Brooklands School

Brooklands School is a special needs school in Reigate, Surrey for children with severe learning and or physical disabilities from the ages of 2 1/2- 11 years.

FOBS was set up by parents and the very dedicated staff of the school to raise funds to buy specialist equipment and resources that are not funded by the LEA. FOBS is a small local registered charity.

Why we help

Having a child with disabilities or additional needs can exert a significant financial strain on many families. Frequently one parent is unable to work due to their child’s care needs, and there’s a myriad of extra expenses – and stress – involved.

This is why the FOBS committee is determined to help Brooklands School give these children every resource they need, and help alleviate some of the worry our families experience.

Fundraising

Although Brooklands is a state school, we do not receive funding from the local authority for these essential ‘added extras’ – we are entirely reliant on donations, fundraising within our school community, and charitable trusts and foundations. As a relatively small school, this is always a demanding task.

Events

The committee is always keen to hear from anyone who’d like to donate or who has a fundraising idea. In the past, intrepid people have run marathons, cycled RideLondon, completed triathlons and even swum with sharks for us. Other people have organised quizzes, cake sales and even a TractorFest. No amount is too small…or too big!
